year of the water rabbit 2023

Happy New Year! Chinese New Year falls on Sunday 22nd January, 2023, and you will likely have completed most of your preparations already. Ordering fresh flowers like yellow chrysanthemums, putting out bowls of oranges(for wealth) and buying party food for your guests. Ladies like this time of year buying new clothes and shoes to wear on the 22nd.

Good to prepare your altars, and make sure that your home is sparkling clean from top to bottom. In Asia this is taken seriously. Even if you are not of Asian culture, it’s a good idea to get your house in order and ensure any maintenance issues are fixed prior to the New year. This is to ensure good health and a prosperous Year of the Water Rabbit. It can be tiresome to clean everything yourself, if you are just too busy, you can always hire someone to help you.

Moving from cleaning to cleansing. It is important to perform proper space cleansing of your home on a regular basis, but particularly at New Year. When energy becomes negative, stagnant, or stale, it can bring bad luck and create obstacles to growth, success, health and happiness. Purifying with sacred smoke has been used by many cultures throughout history. Use sandalwood incense sticks or sage and essential oils like sandalwood. Its best done with all your windows and lights on and main door open. Go from room to room so the light smoke and smell gets into all the corners of the rooms. Visualise what you want to manifest and achieve this year whilst doing so. Focus on the old Chi energy leaving your home and the new Chi energy being invited in. Leave the doors and windows open for a minimum of 1 hour . I love these New Year rituals and feel ready for the year ahead.

Health and family luck can be badly affected this year. The imbalance of the elements in the Annual Flying Star Charts indicate health problems from imbalanced diets. So be sure to watch what you eat this year. Seasonal flu and infections continue to afflict the world, but are expected to be less serious this year. Watch the East sectors of your homes and businesses this year, in 2023 the Illness Star 2 has flown into the East. This means that if you were born in the year of the Rabbit, or if your bedroom or home faces East, you will need to place strong remedies to protect your health and that of your family. The primary cure for this is to call on the help of the Blue Medicine Buddha, chant White Tara mantras or add a golden Wu Lu object to your bedside cabinet or east sector of your bedroom.
